Carhartts for me! Nothing weird about them. They fit great, look great, and they survive the washing machine, year after year.

Levi’s are on my list of no buy items and have been for years. I now wear Lee as they have yet to make my list. And it is a long list.

Put your old jeans in a washing machine, dry them, cut them in squares, and make soft, comfy, warm quilts backed with flannel.

Not washing your jeans is part of the hipster craze for vintage and vintage-style denim. The point is to create high contrast fade lines that look cool.

Not washing helps maintain the pattern of creases and wrinkles that naturally form behind the knees and around the front pockets. The peaks and valleys of the wrinkles wear at different rates with the peaks becoming lighter over time. Not washing also keeps the original deep indigo color from fading in the valleys.

The result is dramatic “whisker” and honeycomb patterns standing out against a dark navy background. Some pics here:

Levi’s don’t make FRCs so it’s meaningless to me.

FRC flame resistant clothing. It’s Carhart for the refineries, chemical plants, and oil fields.

Wranglers.

Half the price, four times the wear, not anti-2nd Amendment nazis.

F*ck that guy. I hate it when they try to tell me what to do with my Levis after I buy them.

The guy’s a CEO. Probably only wears them once in a while on the weekend. I work in my jeans and wash two or three pairs a week.

Bought a pair of Levi’s raw denim online about ten years ago and never wore them. They just weren’t the same as the stiff as a board levi’s we wore back in the 70’s you had to break in.

I wear Diamond Gusset jeans now. They’re comfortable, made in the USA and last a long time. Just retired a pair that lasted a couple years.
