LOL...yeah, another classic.
A few bosses ago, our new SVP of Sales posted “Change and Grow” outside his office. It became the mantra. He was very energetic. No matter how much he preached “Change” we really didn’t, the products were outdated, and we continued to shrink. He lasted a bit more than a year.
Yep, most places I was at it was a new slogan - at least during the 1990’s.
The hilarious thing was so many had the same dumb look on their face as they tried the same thing as places I’d been before did. They REALLY thought they were geniuses.
One favorite (not really) was their idea to get ONE guy to do the job THREE people would normally do.
And then pay them sub-market rates (low by at least 25%-33% or more if a consultant) and then micro-manage them.
When I laughingly told them that wouldn’t work or last even if they found somebody, I got the frowny-face.
No, it never happened. The company no longer exists because they made other, incredibly-stupid decisions, costing millions of dollars.
They eventually had to change the name. It will never recover to what it once way. They went liberal SJW and couldn’t figure out why their products weren’t selling.
