What are our expectation for teachers if we arm them? If shots are heard in a hallway outside a classroom, are armed teachers expected to engage the shooter or should they stay with the class to help defend the students? If they stay with the students are they cowering?

I believe the schools that arm their staff consider it to be a defensive option.

Obviously, the situation will dictate the response, but I don’t believe the thoughts are for the armed teacher to abandon his class to seek out the shooter.
