Why does she even bother with the strategy of giving illegals the benefits of citizenship on a piecemeal basis - voting rights, Social Security, etc? The Democrats should just come out and admit that their goal is to give automatic citizenship with all of its perks to any and all who come here, legally or not. If this isn’t in their official platform yet, it ought to be.
I’m a legal immigrant. I first arrived as a teenager with my parents. My dad had attained a job here. I was not allowed to work. I had to wait two years before receiving “permanent resident alien” status, which enabled me to get a job. I paid into Social Security with each paycheck KNOWING, as a non-citizen, I could never receive from it at retirement. I’ve since become a citizen.
Why should an ILLEGAL immigrant get anything more? It’s an insult to every single legal immigrant and citizen.

Maybe I’m just naive, but how do you pay into Social Security without your own social security number? If you are committing fraud and using another persons number, and paying in to that, no mercy.
