As for the Red Book, Mao plagerized Confucius a lot. Should have been sued.
As for “The Yellow Book” of quotes of Lin Piao, it was written by my late friend and WW2 hero and psyops veteran of China and Vietnam, Bernie Yoh (See; “SACO: Sino-American Combined Operations” book for the chapter on him as the youngest Kuomintang general in WW2).
He created it to create dissent between the Maoists/Red Guards in the 60’s and the anti-Red Guard forces. Apparently it worked in some places.
I have both books next to each other on my shelf. Bernie is smiling in heaven, just as he did on earth.
