I don’t know that this saved anything but either I or the counter help (they usually do the most) load me up with packets at the fast food places. Jack in the Box, Taco Bell, McD.
This afternoon I used the last 1/2 of the Velveeta to make some nacho cheese. Everyone uses Rotel but I went a little different.
In a saucepan, melted some butter, added some white onions and let that brown for a bit, then a can of Red Gold diced tomatoes with green chilies. Added some onion powder, some garlic salt, just a little pepper and some regular salt. Brought that to a gentle boil.
Then I diced the 1/2 brick of Velveeta into 1-inch cubes (maybe 1/2 inch thick) and added it to the saucepan. Lowered the heat to about 3/10 and let it roll.
Later, I took a can of chili beans and put it in another saucepan, added 2 packages of McD ketchup, 3 Taco Bell sauce and 1 Taco Bell fire sauce. Brought that to a gentle boil.
Put some over tortilla chips and add some cheese.
Not saying it’s gourmet, just relatively cheap (The Velveeta was on sale for $7 BUT you got a free bag of chips which made it like $4.50.
Tonight at Wal*Mart I picked up a small pepper (maybe Hatch of Jalapeno) - 7 cents, LOL. I’ll do a bit of chopping tomorrow for my nachos then. Still got most of the cheese and more than 1/2 the beans.
Oh yeah, real fine dining, LOL.
[ You young, wipper-snapper. You do not know that Taco Bell used to have their internal gas flame out front at their concrete benches. ]
I remember that. I remember when their tacos were 33 cents. Then they went up to 39 cents.
My grandma’s hometown, about 5 years before the 33 cent tacos sold big burgers for 19 cents. Dang they were good. Just a plain burger and bun. That would be around 1972.
[Conclusion???]
1. Always keep Taco Bell sauce packets in your car.
2. When eating inside Taco Bell, always be getting up for salsa.
3. Do not sit next to the windows when eating inside Taco Bell.
LOL
[ (maybe Hatch OR Jalapeno) ]
oops
Well at least she say’s she has some...when darker skinned people are around...
“Hillary carries some in her purse just in case... ..”
She wouldn’t have needed to leave the table. Wouldn’t that have been a shame.
There, fixed it.
CC
mmmm no. lol Mango salsa is NOT real salsa.
Sounds like fine dining to me! lol
Excellent.
This was prophecized by the Belluminatti.
I like that kind of food, lol.
Not every day but hey, yesterday and hopefully today as well.
But then I had a greasy double-cheeseburger, tater tots and a big Coke Classic Friday night. Man that was awesome.
I had ketchup with my tots but I also like to dunk them in mustard. Which is weird. I also had them add mustard to the burger. Lite onion and regular portion of pickles.
Pretty much the same burgers they’ve been dishing up since the 50’s. I started having them in the 1970’s.
BINGO!!!
You know, I read the article, and it says he thought he was in reverse, right?
WHO ON EARTH would stomp the accelerator that hard in reverse?
If he was backing into a parking spot at that speed, he’d have had to slam on the brakes to keep from going all the way through to the next parking lot!
“NOTHING at Taco Bell can rightly be called ‘hot sauce’.”
Like that white crap at Arby’s that’s supposed to be horseradish.
Officers said Emmanuel Akowuah,77, and his wife were parked in a
spot in front of the restaurant before he drove into the building.
Akowuah told police he put the car into reverse but then back into
drive and it jumped the curb into the building.
Too many rules. Ill just go down with the ship. Plus I like that cholula hot sauce better anyway.
Was the hot sauce seeker’s meal still intact?
