Not the 1950s or 1960s?
I seem to remember that the hippies in particular affirmed themselves as godless communists, living in communes to boot.
There was a big cultural shift in the early seventies. The libs had coerced nixon into a slew of enviro legislation we still deal with, no one ‘liked’ vietnam, tv was getting edgier, and women could smoke Virginia Slims and get lung cancer just like men did.
The late 60s and early 70s were the big hippie years. That’s when the government created things like the EPA, HUD and all those other initials — to placate rioting hippies.
Every one of those agencies created during that era should be shut down. COMPLETE waste of money.
At this point....I’d like to live in a commune with young naked chicks running around...
