In all fairness, these breeds are used to this. There must of been an underlying issue that wasn’t caught.

No doubt the Alaskan dog breeds are used to pulling sleds. I have no beef with that at all as they are performing valuable work and the dogs seem to like the work as well (they actually fight over the privilege of being harnessed up in a team). It’s the racing part of it that seems unnecessary as the sprit of competition between the men makes them drive their dogs all the harder, much more than they normally would if they were just delivering supplies on a routine run. It’s that part of it that seems unfair (to the dogs) to me. It seems that the dogs are being made to suffer unnecessarily so some man can win a trophy.
