as well as the compact states giving electoral votes to the winner of the popular vote, which disenfranchises the states voters (it’d be great if the popular vote went to Trump and those commie states, by their own law, had to give their electoral votes to Trump whether they voted for him or not)

No doubt in that situation they would just say it was only symbolic and they would follow the constitution. On the other hand they have to follow the constitution or the states results would not be admitted. Not that violating the constitution makes a difference to Democrats. They have spent their energy trying to delegitimizating any election Republicans win for some time now.
