What should the U.S. do about The Wall? is a question thats destined to divide many Americans. But theres one proposal for the U.S.-Mexico border that, at least in theory, seems agreeable to everyone.
A consortium of 28 engineers and scientists has proposed that instead of building a simple barrier along the approximately 2,000-mile border the U.S. and Mexico could work together to build an industrial park along the divide that would include desalination facilities, solar energy panels, wind turbines and natural gas pipelines. The plan would not only provide the region with border security considering itd be a continuous train of heavily guarded industrial facilities but also energy, water and jobs.
In a white paper, the team called it a future energy, water, industry and education park that will create massive opportunities for employment and prosperity.
Just like the transcontinental railroad transformed the United States in the 19th century, or the Interstate system transformed the 20th century, this would be a national infrastructure project for the 21st century, Luciano Castillo, Purdue Universitys Kenninger Professor of Renewable Energy and Power Systems and lead of the consortium, told Phys.org. It would do for the Southwest what the Tennessee Valley Authority has done for the Southeast over the last several decades.

Another ripoff “Green Scheme” that does nothing to address our border problems with our neighbors to the south. The cost of that monstrosity of a project would run in the trillions to create. Another hapless attempt by the Deep State to present an alternative to a wall. Pretty pathetic.
I see somebody’s been depleting the hemp crop...
A 2400 mile industrial park? Only a bunch of Druggies could even come up with such BS
if birds and butterflies can’t fly over a fence, whatever will they do when faced with an industrial park?
and if they do make it over the industrial park by some remote chance, they’ll just get fried by the solar panels
Notwithstanding that migrants consuming here are the cause of global warming.... funny how leftists do not put that in their global warming equation...
2000 miles, or even 200 miles of industrial facilities? And you can’t sneak across solar panel farms or a factory property because why again?
how about 1/2 mile of land mines on the US side and 10 miles of warning leaflets on the mehico side? how’s that strike ya?
Please don’t try to hijack the thread. I don’t do that to you. Thanks
May come to that at some point.
First, he's President, not king, or emperor, or any other kind of dictator. Second, buying from China is a function of US companies and US citizens. You can find US-made goods if you want. Buy them.
Clearly the most vile, untalented, unqualified people are the ones that generally wind up in politics. It isn't easy separating unethical snakes from their power.
How am I trying to highjack your thread?
Sheesh.
You’re being possessive.
The thread’s not about Red China, that’s how. It is about Mexico, however.
“The plan would not only provide the region with border security......”
Okay how? If they are providing locations for the terrorists to destroy, shoot up, or invite the transporting of drugs and illegals into the country, that it can do. The wall was a barrier that could be observed without local manning using different types of detecting devices and was designed to cover many more miles of insecured property. Trusting a limited security team to handle a small, in retrospect, area of the border to spend more efforts to protect the facilities, is not only worthless, it is counterproductive as it creates an illusion of security for the entire border. This is not only stupid, but it breeds more problems. Typical government operation, spending just a part of what they can to do a small percentage of what’s needed/required.
And the flood of crime and mis-spending of citizen’s money to accomplish just the opposite continues. (Except for the liberals voting base needs)

In addition, the turbine farms kill large numbers of birds.
I said China and the Wall.
Both. The two issues are completely intertwined.
Sorry if you don’t agree. I believe they are completely related.
Completely so.
But you are welcome to contribute to threads, I post as well.
:)
Nothing intertwined about them that I can see. Perhaps you need to lay down for a bit?
That was my impression too. Security guards for businesses are not CBP agents, so their subjective notion of “heavily guarded” falls flat all at once.
Both are issues which Trump ran on.
Both involve international relations.
Both involve so-called “American” interests, but in reality, instead involve exactly the opposite.
Both were crucial to Trump voters. Both are why he actually won.
Both are representative of why Trump won.
They involve a huge, powerful lobby of globalists, which have been acting in direct opposition, to actual American interests.
Every president. Both parties, for the entire last generation and a half.
Oh they are COMPLETELY related.
Completely so.
They are also, the reasons Trump won.
It is long, past time for him to put America first, once again.
For real.
doesn’t matter how heavily guarded it is if they don’t have the ROE to shoot
