What should the U.S. do about The Wall? is a question thats destined to divide many Americans. But theres one proposal for the U.S.-Mexico border that, at least in theory, seems agreeable to everyone.
A consortium of 28 engineers and scientists has proposed that instead of building a simple barrier along the approximately 2,000-mile border the U.S. and Mexico could work together to build an industrial park along the divide that would include desalination facilities, solar energy panels, wind turbines and natural gas pipelines. The plan would not only provide the region with border security considering itd be a continuous train of heavily guarded industrial facilities but also energy, water and jobs.
In a white paper, the team called it a future energy, water, industry and education park that will create massive opportunities for employment and prosperity.
Just like the transcontinental railroad transformed the United States in the 19th century, or the Interstate system transformed the 20th century, this would be a national infrastructure project for the 21st century, Luciano Castillo, Purdue Universitys Kenninger Professor of Renewable Energy and Power Systems and lead of the consortium, told Phys.org. It would do for the Southwest what the Tennessee Valley Authority has done for the Southeast over the last several decades.

They also fail to give substance to their claim of heavily guarded. Security guards are not trained CBP agents.
Druggie Disney world?
For 2,000 miles, of course.
What we should do is build a welfare wall. Cut off welfare for these invaders. If they have an American child pay only for the child. Americans only. They will leave on their own.
Also tax the monies that are sent to Mexico. That should help pay for the wall and it will be paid for by the Mexicans.
That seems like an incredibly expensive option.
How about a casino and stripper wall?
As long as all of those facilities have 30 foot walls on the south side of the structures, go for it. It will be more expensive, but if that what it takes, whatever...
The consortium is full of baloney, and is clearly comprised of a bunch of pie-in-the-sky libtards.
For two years we have not built the wall, and we have continued to buy ever more from China.
Trump, this not why you were elected
Yeah, a 2000-mile industrial park. That’s a practical alternative solution!
All these “thinkers” could not know this border or they would be embarrassed to propose such a project. The terrain and the climate precludes most any type of productive structure in many places.
Other than the natural gas pipelines (a terrorists dream in such a location) this sounds as workable as AOC’s ‘Green New Deal’.
these guys crack me up. Trump wants a few billion. And here comes so-called experts, who boo-hoo the few billion in favor of spending trillions.
In the meantime, Congressal stalling and grandstanding is costing Messico BIGLY bucks in trying to accommodate all the migrants that have been pouring into Messico demanding services. Remember the migrants badmouthing Messican food? Messico is a mess with these folk.
We also have more of a magnet for illegals than ever—including future DACA recipients with health issues dragged here for Ivanka’s free children’s health clinic all along the border!
Congressional*
Yeah, and the environmentalists upset about some fencing there will just love having a 2000-mile industrial park built there instead!
That’s one gigantor industrial park, office park, school campus, turbine farm and pipeline. Lets see:
Industrial park: all these savages are running from corrupt socialist countries so they can pop out a kid in an American hospital to get Section 8 housing and welfare.
Office park: what businesses are going to plant roots in that AO? there’s a reason it’s barren desert and there’s nothing there....it’s hotter than Hell, dry as a bone and desolate
School Campus: barren desert, hotter than hell, drug smuggling, human trafficking, etc etc etc blah blah blah blah
Turbine Farms: As it appears that in most areas these things were installed, there’s either not enough wind, they’re a maintenance nightmare, or they’re making people sick
Pipeline: environmentalist keeping folks in court for decades because of a frog, salamander, worm, scorpion, river, bush, tree, insect.
President Trump has done a lot of great things. One of them is exposing people who are normally thought of as, being smart, that are actually dumber than stumps.
A Mexican child born in America.
Yea like you need housing for the workers. Some of that land sucks to try to live on. Thinkers really don’t think.
I just love the idea of an “industrial park” the length of the Rio Grande River! The other har de har har har here is Mexico “working together” with United States!
