We still use the yellow quarantine flag. Once you enter foreign waters you must fly a yellow flag indicating that the vessel has not been inspected. Make port, no one disembarks except the master of the vessel. The master takes everyone's paperwork (and $$) thru C/I where they can opt to do a physical inspection if they choose. Once cleared, you fly the flag of that country as a courtesy indicating the vessel is lawfully in-country.
Our military is big on getting everyone vaccinated so this doesn’t fly. Mumps since Dec. and they supposedly can’t get it contained doesn’t fly, either. Nope, not buying this at all.

Most vaccines, including those used by the military, are made in China (or elsewhere using ingredients made in China).
On my first stint in Bosnia, while still on base in Manitoba, they were making everyone take a flu shot. I didn’t want it, and it was a huge deal. I had to sign a 5 page waiver, and then the base surgeon didn’t want to let me deploy. The base commander overrode him saying we were short on manpower, so over I went. We got there, my entire section got the flu and were bed ridden for over a week, while I was the only healthy one and able to do the work. It sucked.
Makes perfect sense.
You a Merchant Seaman?
I sailed from 1986 til 2001, and then went into nursing school.
I was trying to refer to the difference between a request for free pratique (”Q”) and a formal quarantine (”L”). I should have been clearer.
No Sir, I'm just a private boater fortunate enough to live in a place that is a reasonable distance to the Bahamas with a beautiful old girl that gets me there and back safely.
I BS a bit with the commercial seamen in a local watering hole. It's an interesting life for a younger man but a hell of a work schedule. It's fascinating to me. I'm not complaining at all about what I did do - but there's so many things I coulda' done.
Thank you for your service!
