Don't use the voice siri for searches, do a little research and block the tattle tale apps.
Hope that helps.
My HTC Phone has the feature where you can block any and all phone calls from a single contact. I just made a contact called Telemarketer asswipe and whenever I get a call from a telemarketer I save it to that Contact which is blocked from sending me any calls. Usually I will get 3 or 4 calls from the same group because they will use different numbers, Once I have saved them all to the contact they won't get through.
Anytime someone sends you junk mail with one of those ‘pre-paid postage’ envelopes don’t just trash it, put it to good use.
Since you didn’t ask to be sent the crap they sent you, stuff their prepaid postage envelope with stuff you don’t want...
junk mail of all kinds, (remove the addresses), old expired coupons, all the junk you can stuff in it.
Whatever it weighs they will be stuck with paying the postage, so STUFF that puppy full!
When they get stuck paying $5 for junk mail and expired coupons you can bet your @$$ they won’t be mailing you anything else!
Use the phone system to your advantage.
Step 1 - down load the audio/tone for not in service tone (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NI_wyiY4vyk)
Step 2 - shorten the tone to just the tone and not the message
Step 3 - On your voice mail recording, start the recording, play the tone and wait one or two seconds, then proceed with your normal greeting.
Step 4 - Let all calls ESPECIALLY unrecognized calls, go to voice mail/messaging
Why this works. The tone is a standard telephone tone that tells auto dailers that the line is not in servcie. The vast majority of auto dialers will then take the line out of their list and not call it again.
Also helps to list your phone with the do not call registry. After about a week, you should see a significant drop in call attempts.
I am already using Hiya which blocks 80% of them.
My goal is to unite as a people (we outnumber them 350-1, maybe more) and bury them with unprofitable experiences.
I don’t get any junk mail. Weird...
I dig it and that is true.
Give them a referral tone and it’s done...
I am going to download an .mp4 and see what happens.
You don’t exist!
It’s all been a terrible bureaucratic foul up!
If you would report down to the county disintegration chamber we’ll fix you right up.
The less calls you answer the less you’ll have to deal with.
If it’s not a return call from one you’ve made or one you
are interested in let it go.
That's a really great idea... for people who don't operate a business where phone calls = money.
“Tried to politely get him off the phone and eventually did.”
We’ve been programmed from youth to be polite. It was liberating once I realized it’s OK to simply hang up on phone solicitors.
I’m waiting for someone to step up and bring a class action lawsuit against these telemarketers.
There are ads on TV and radio. There are additional at movie theaters. There are ads that come in the mail. There are ads in newspapers, magazines, on billboards. There are ads everywhere.
There isn’t a single legitimate reason why telemarketers should even exist.
For a class action lawsuit, I figure several trillion dollars in punitive damages industry wide, with the owners of the individual telemarketing firms facing full forfeiture of all personal and business assets.
The telephone companies will also be part of the suit facing smaller fines, but much more regulation preventing them from ever selling phone numbers to any third party.
” I even have a list I got off of Google Translate of cuss words.”
I did that too!
Had one once I suspected was from Pakistan. He went into a rage when I told him ‘your prophet was a goat F’ng child molesting thief’.
Told me “we are coming for you”.
I understand that threatening to kill the unwanted caller sometimes gets their attention! I did it only once and the caller said that they were going to take me to court. I told him that I’d really like for him to do that so that the court could also fully understand what he was doing making repeated calls to me. FWIW, He never called back.
Ewww..... now that is a really good one.
Except, how do you distinguish between a paki and a mumbai hindu?
“There isnt a single legitimate reason why telemarketers should even exist.”
Telemarketers aren’t advertising——they are selling. Big difference.

signup for voip.ms telephone service and then use this website to manage your phone calls, e.g., whitelist the ones you want to let through in the future:

Your delay tactics does not work. A soon as you start questioning them, they hang up.
