Of Course I remember Capt. Herb. A man with a big heart that died saving someone after a car accident.
They actually named a stretch of a new highway after him The Capt. Herb interchange.
You know, I do seem to remember the name Count Dacula. That was a loooong time ago. I took the FR name after Buckhead outed Dan Rather in 2004.
I sure wish I could have met ya. Oh the stories we could tell. :)
Yes, it wasn't Count Dracula it was Count Dacula. I knew that but just spelled it wrong. We had transferred down to Georgia and for a long time I pronounced Dacula based on what Capt. Herb said. Now I know it's pronounced DaQla :-) There is a big gun club in Cumming that is also into SHTF preparation and will organize as a militia if things ever get really bad. I had a lot of good years in Georgia. My daughter graduated from Brenau and my son graduated from Georgia Tech but I'm loving my new life in Spain. Here is a view from our terrace. Notice the hill in front? If you look a bit to the left you can see a castle that has been there since Roman times. On one of the rocks jutting out to sea is a cross that was put there to mark the spot where the Moors left Spain for good in 1489 after 750 years of rule. We can swim in the Mediterranean after breakfast, ski in the Sierra Nevada Mountains all day and be back in time for an evening swim. Not a bad place to retire.
