Brooklyn DA reveals new, softer crime approach

Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez has a bold new plan for law and order in Kings County — letting criminals go free.

And, he thinks, their victims will be just fine with it.

“Sending someone to jail is often not what [victims] want, what they want is to make sure the person leaves them alone, doesn’t hurt them or hurt anyone else and gets the needs for what’s causing them to act out in the first place resolved,” Gonzalez told reporters Monday.

First, we have the Bronx DA thinking it's fine to give ILLEGAL CRIMINAL INVADERS drivers licenses. Now we have the Brooklyn DA all on board with letting criminals go. Is there some kind of insanity virus going around I haven't heard of? I mean, the governor is stuck on stupid, wanting to legalize marijuana, making the whole state a sanctuary state, etc. The mayor is a hard core commie and as corrupt as moldy fruit. The city council is made up of militant gays and Hispanics more interested in the welfare of people of other countries than the citizens of NYC, loonies all. The so-called upholders of the law, such as it is, were the last bastion of sanity. But with the recent retirement of Richard Brown, former Queens DA, we now have a collection of lefty lunatics in charge of the law here. Talk about the fox guarding the henhouse. As the article says, the victims of crimes are simply gobsmacked at this guy's idiotic decision. I guess this would leave him more time to sit on his obviously fat a@@.

So that’s what NYC is calling crime these days, just acting out.

That’s nice to know. I’ll have to remember that if I’m ever stopped by a NYC cop. “No officer, I wasn’t speeding. I was just acting out. So please leave me alone.”

These liberals get wackier by the day.

Some people just have to be removed fro society to make it safe.

I read about a program like this some years ago in some liberal utopia. It was being heralded as a rousing success because when officers quit arresting people crime figures went down. Imagine that!

“Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez has a bold new plan for law and order in Kings County — letting criminals go free.”

Let’s see. Is the majority of crimes being committed by minorities? And a minority DA wants to let them walk. Color me surprised.

Is the majority of crimes being committed by minorities?

According to a 2013 article by the NY Times (most recent I could find),

"...If you're black, you are almost 25 times more likely to be shot in New York City than a white person — and you are also more likely to be arrested for pulling a trigger, alarming new NYPD statistics show.

Data collected during the first six months of the year reveal 74% of the city's 567 shooting victims were black. An additional 21.5% were Hispanic. Less than 3% of shooting victims were white, according to the report.

Blacks also accounted for the majority — about 70% — of the 222 people arrested for shooting someone during the first half of 2013, according to the NYPD's Crime and Enforcement Activity report..."

Ah, the Dinkins “let’s not prosecute, let’s not arrest” approach 2.0!

It seems that they already have. Apparently their jails are so overcrowded they essentially catch, disarm and release low level crime perps.

“The superintendent said Chicago police have made twice as many gun arrests so far this year as the same time last year, but it’s not making a difference in shootings, because those criminals know they won’t spend much time behind bars.”

It won’t be long before NYC will be begging for Giuliani to come back.
