This list really isn’t indicative of “danger” per se, it appears to be strictly relying upon statistical chance regardless of population. The two towns in North Carolina on the list, Kinston and Henderson, are not large or prominent at all, in fact the only thing they have in common is a large percentage of minority population. I’d wager you’d feel much more endangered on the wrong side of Durham or Charlotte and actually be in more danger than these two towns, but it’s washed out by a much larger nonviolent population.
“... the violent crime and prevalence of gun murders plaguing Americas most dangerous cities arent best explained by lax gun laws, rates of gun ownership, or one-off rampages (although, these do have an effect), but rather, by income inequality.”
LOL! Income inequality in Anniston Alabama??
As usual they manage to willfully miss the elephant in the room. Most if not all of these places are predominantly black.
McKeesport is post-apocalyptic.
I strongly suspect if counted only murders by whites in the US, the US would have a murder rate slightly higher than the west European average. We have about 5.35/100K, they have about 1-1.5/100k.
What are the demographics of those places? High percentage of Amish there I might guess.
****Undoubtedly, the US has remarkably high rates of violent crime compared to other developed nations in Europe and Asia, especially in certain regions, but what is the underlying cause behind these numbers?****
Very misleading statement, probably an outright lie...Democrats love to make this claim, based on one faulty article years ago.
The US is actually #11 in the annual number of deaths per million from mass shootings, and #12 in frequency of mass shootings. Macedonia, Serbia , Albania, Norway and Switzerland are all in the top 10 of both lists.
https://fee.org/articles/the-myth-that-the-us-leads-the-world-in-mass-shootings/
And another good article on the same subject...
The rate of firearm deaths has actually decreased in the US since 1981, with a rise in the early 90’s. I also found a list of mass shootings per President a while back -
BRB gotta turn idiot Shep Smith off...useless bastard...
Reagan -— 11
Bush Sr -— 12
Clinton -— 23
Bush Jr -— 16
Obama -— 162
Why is it I see more during both Democrat Presidents? And way more during Obama?
This may help:
Guess what they all have in common? Theyre overwhelmingly black.
The dirty secret fake news wont mention.
The really sad thing, is that 2 or 3 decades ago, many of these cities had very low crime rates, including my hometown.
There are several lists on this website, based on population. Chicago is on most of the lists, except for towns with <100,000 people.
Every several years, a murder will occur in our little town, which gives us a 100% jump in murders, but it’s an extremely safe town. Nearly everyone here, owns a gun. I imagine that includes most of the bad guys, but knowing whomever’s home at their target property is well-armed, it keeps them away. Most of our crime is pilfering, domestic disturbances, and drunk or uninsured drivers. I’m sure there are a lot of low level druggies, because they’re everywhere, but my observation is that those types rely on their live-in girlfriend, or their baby mama, who either is on welfare, or a combination of a low-paying part time job and welfare. Misuse of food stamp benefits is a major form of drug payment everywhere.
“Los Angeles Chargers”...??
LA Chargers = Former San Diego Chargers
Thanks, didn’t know they moved. I
haven’t kept up with kneelball.
