Watching them cross those rail bridges made me think, they most be a little crazy, even bordering on cyclepathic;)
Not sure why, but watching the video reminded me of Wile E. Coyote. I kept expecting an oncoming train to appear out of nowhere.
I think I need more coffee this morning. Or maybe less.
I dealt with several sawmills that were at one time served by this railroad. It was abandoned because there were too many bridges to maintain. The last owner actually bought it for the scrap value of the steel rails. He continued to run it for a few years until there were just too many derailments. None were serious, they were going too slow.
it is hard to believe they were running small trains on this just a couple years back.
If you remember the Charles Bronson movie "Breakheart Pass." It was filmed in this area using some of those old trestle bridges.
I watched this last night. Mostly old guys. Old Guys Rock!!
