They look like turkey vultures. I climbed Big Roundtop at Gettysburg one winter, and found a large number of turkey vultures roosting there. Wasn’t expecting any company as the park was basically empty.
Turkey vultures are all over NJ for some reason. Yes, sometimes road kill...even animal “spoor.”
