Nearly a half century ago, President Richard Nixon's supporters felt the country needed a pep rally on the Fourth of July. But their plans took a turn for the worse when anti-war marijuana activists — some missing their clothes — entered the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and approached the stage.
Waving North Vietnam and cannabis-leaf flags, the group countered the speeches and music of “Honor America Day” with their own “Honor America Day Smoke-in," shoving vehicles into the water, chanting slogans, and stealing the show.
“The entire crowd hopped into the pool and walked past the police,” recalls Dana Beal, a lead organizer of the 1970 protest. “Three times the cops came in and dispersed us, but eventually they couldn’t disperse us because people came to watch the fireworks and it was too crowded.”
This year, President Trump risks a similar debacle, as activists mull what to do in response to his July Fourth “Salute to America” event, which he announced last month on Twitter, saying it would be “one of the biggest gatherings in the history of Washington, D.C.,” featuring “entertainment and an address by your favorite President, me!” (snip)
Adam Eidinger, the co-founder of the D.C. Cannabis Campaign and an organizer of many large demonstrations in Washington, said the group is having a two-week brainstorming period. Early ideas include an inflatable 51-feet joint with a message to Trump and pot giveaways.

I don’t know what it is with these “highly educated” house apes. The only thing that helps them from being “sad” is to smoke weed and walk around naked in public.

We know through history, what these loonie toons will do. Those patriotic Americans will see first hand what they will do and go back home and tell their friends and community. They will turn off mainstream America in a big way. President Trump will be re-elected and the left-wing Congress will be given back to the Republicans. The Senate will continue to increase. Trump’s second term will bring everything he has been working to do, to reality.
Why do libs always shuck their clothes when they’re throwing temper tantrums?
Infantile brains? At least they’re not throwing feces, yet.
Perhaps President Trump and those who plan the July Fourth bash need to figure out how to spoil the protesters disruption.
If they plan to walk around naked, hit them with the Active Denial system.
Or let loose a truck load of pit bulls.
Can’t do much protesting with a pittie chomping the family jewels.
(Can you imagine the entertainment of such a broadcast on the national news?)
