Most of them aren’t homeless. At the end of the day, they get in their late model automobile which is parked blocks away, or they get picked up by someone else, and go home, which is a real home.

I saw that happen once. I was at a long light at a busy intersection. I had passed the guy on the way in earlier in the day. As I waited this time, he gathered up his stuff, crossed a couple of lanes and walked to his car in a nearby parking lot.

There is a guy with a YouTube channel who drives around filming fraudsters standing at intersections and freeway entrance ramps, waiting for them to “punch out” for the day. They either walk to a (usually) nice vehicle or get picked up by someone and drive off. There was an interesting video where these three people actually worked in shifts, handing off the cardboard “homeless” sign to one of the three while the other two took a break. These were young people, two men and a woman, probably in their 20s. They were staying in a motel.
