Are you reading my mind? I was thinking that! I have a lot bookmarks!
I lost all my FireFox bookmarks due to not being careful. I got my Chrome ones, but the FF were the most important. One can continue to live despite losing all bookmarks!
export them first.
The export feature creates a bookmark html file.
Save it where ever you want.

when you want to “import” those bookmarks to a new browser, point to the file you created.
