I stopped purchasing Girl Scout items years ago.

My beloved is a great fan of their Mint cookies. As he purchases them, gets annoyed at himself. He’s tried other Mint cookies and says they are still the best. He wishes other girl clubs would sell cookies.

We usually see eye to eye.

As he doesn’t force me to eat them, I just let his stomach live with the cognitive dissonance.

Just give the girl a dollar, that is about all the local troop will get from the box of cookies anyway... and as I stated elsewhere, most of the local troops are run by good fine women, the national organization however, was lost to left wing nutters a long time ago.

If you need a fix, the following cookies are available at our supermarket, for a lot cheaper, and are pretty close equivalents:

Thin Mint = Keebler Grasshoppers
Somoas = Keebler Coconut Dreams
Do-Si-Dos = Any Peanut Butter sandwich cookie from (nutter butter, to generic)
Tag A longs = Keebler Fudge Shoppe Peanut Butter filled... or Generic (Walmart fudge covered peanut butter cookies)

Sure there are other generics as well, but keebler brand is pretty much universally available.

Thye aren’t PERFECT replacements, particularly the coconut dreams, the cookie itself is slightly different, but it will take care of any cravings and is cheaper and available all year.
