If I may offer one piece of advice. Back up all your work to a secondary hard. I use the type below but there are other options; even secure cloud storage. Well; as secure as anything can be these days I guess...

I’m exceptionally fond of these hard drive docking stations that accept every kind available. You can also clone a drive so if if your main goes out; you have a backup you previously cloned. If you have been backing up the data on a regular basis; you can then transfer the backups to the cloned drive. All quite quick and fairly seamless. Very little downtime that way too.
