In April of 2017, about 20 miles from here a man broke into a business property next to a private residence and was taking a shower. The owner of both buildings confronted the intruder, words were exchanged and he returned with his pistol and fired three rounds thru the shower curtain, killing the man. He then notified police.
He has been charged with first degree murder and the case has yet to be tried.

Omgosh. Just reading what little there was of the incident, I’m glad he’s facing charges.

I’m going to assume the burglar was naked in the shower and at that point would have been no threat at all.

Matter of fact, all the owner of the residence would have had to do (while keeping the gun on the guy in the shower)was to throw stuff into the shower to keep the guy in the shower off guard. I’d have done that after calling 911 of course and leaving the phone off the hook.

I’m all for protecting ones life. This doesn’t sound like a good shooting though....
