Not hin death but the predictable inept bureaucracy
See the post above you.........Ha, Ha, Ha, how funny....../s
I wouldn’t shut down the subway for this.
If you had found a bullet ridden body with casings scattered all around the place, maybe.
Sounds like he died on the bench so they closed the bench. Good enough.
I’m not sure why folks seem to think you should shut down the subway for this. Must be some serious wimps out there. Probably also why states do things like attempt to order people off the roads when it snows to make it easier for the plows.
“contagious”
No threat there if he’s not breathing.
Even if he died of something like ebola, once dead, you’d pretty much have to walk up and lick the guy.
“Since when did this site that claims to be a gathering place of both Christians and conservatives become a cesspool of humor over the death of a homeless person?”
You are on the wrong forum. Freepers discuss and reflect on the state of our beloved Country and Society in General. None of us know the specifics of this poor soul. How is anyone supposed to discuss World Affairs or Society if we are all to fall apart for the reported passing of every individual?
You're right.......I thought this was a compassionate Christian and Conservative based forum............And to think I wasted almost 20 years under that flag...............Boy was I wrong.
They who? The police? Are you wanting people to imagine what the police would do to you if you didnt remove a body from the subway in a quick fashion???
How can we discuss any Societal issue if we flow with emotion for every individual reported on in the story? This would simply become a prayer forum, filled solely with posts of Mourning and Sorrow. Don’t you think we need to be able to dispassionately discuss a story without an outpouring of sorrow for the individuals reported on?
You totally missed the point in my comment didn't you" Where is the "dispassionate discussion" in comments such as this?
Hey, why give up a rare seat on the NY sewer express?
Well at least they didn't leave him on top of the Family Truckster.
"I hate when people leave me sitting dead in a subway platform. The least they could do is put me on a train or take me up stairs and sit me on a park bench."
Maybe your question should be how many more jokes can you come up with to make fun of the death of a homeless man in America since the sanctity of life appears to have been thrown out the window..........
Crude remarks? Yes, absolutely. It’s just a matter of how wide an angle with which we choose to view or discuss world history. Let’s round off a bit, and say 50 Million innocents died during WWII. How do we intelligently discuss this if we must shed tears and pray for each of the 50 Million individually? Is there a way to coldly discuss and analyze things like this? Can we be objective in discussing these incomprehensible things while we cry for 50 Million individuals? These are not easy answers. I believe that those who made “jokes” about this poor souls passing are not actually heartless and without compassion. I believe that objective discussions about the ills of any society must dispense with the anguish for the individual and discuss the issue on an impersonal level. Does that make me heartless?
