Report: Todd Gurley has arthritis in knee
NBC Sports ^ | March 2, 2019 | Mike Florio

Todd Gurley surely has something wrong with his left knee, no matter how aggressively the Rams will try to deny it. A new report has provided the first concrete diagnosis. Jeff Howe of TheAthletic.com reports that Gurley has arthritis in the knee. It’s the same knee that underwent an ACL repair in 2014. If the report is accurate, what will the Rams do about it? Coach Sean McVay discussed stem-cell treatment options for the knee this week at the Scouting Combine. If Gurley has arthritis that comes from a loss of cartilage, microfracture surgery presumably would be a possibility. However, the Rams have said that Gurley won’t have surgery.

I am 62 and on a serious weight training program, guided by a trainer who is 26, ex-army paratrooper and one tough hombre. Really puts me through a high intensity workout 3x/week and in some dimensions, I may have more strength and flexibility than at any time in my life. At the same time I do it carefully to avoid the kind of injuries that are common among weekend warrior types my age (can you say rotator cuff?)

I congratulate myself for never having engaged in the type of sports in my prior life that would limit me in the future. I know folks from my college days who played Big Ten football (very well, but not well enough to make it to the NFL) who can barely walk today.

I can't imagine what it would be like to be my age, or even considerably younger, and have the limitations you see with many NFL alumni. Was it really worth it?

Good on ya! Me and my fellow athletes, and those of us in the military who have been put thru the boots, are hurting!
All my old HS friends and other I know who were not athletes when young, are all running marathans, 1/2 marathons, doing all sorts of hikes and things like that. I’ll keep creaking along.

if true, this is really too bad: Todd Gurley was really fun to watch when he played for Georgia and the Rams ...

I’ll alert the media.

I don’t know how I’m going

Why let an angry black man have the upper hand like that?

Answer: Plenty of hard-working, disciplined white players who have been overlooked by the politically correct, racist NFL.

Prime example: Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman, who had to serve a four-year racial apprenticeship before finally getting to start. You gotta love this guy — a wideout with the temperament of an offensive lineman.

Surprised they are not aggressively doing cold laser therapy, pemf therapy, and/or diathermy on the knee.
