By Jove, I actually think you're right. It goes against everything I've believed for a year. Also, there's more of a chance that new threads will bump it down the front page, thereby not being a shiny for other bored trolls to be attracted to.

Not only that, but starting at different times of day ( random times) does not allow them to be on ready to get their snide remarks into the first 50 posts. It messes up their timing which should lead to less troll dung.
