“A mourning dove dad babysitting the kiddos...”
Reminds me of my slight rant from years ago. I would take my kids out to the park often when they were young to give my wife a break. Quite often one of the moms would say something like “So you’re babysitting the kids today!”
“Um. No. I’m their dad.”
And I’m guessing the mourning dove dad would and “And hey - it beats digging around for food.”
That’s a neat photo. Amazing how the little guys blend in so well. (A good attribute to have when you can’t fly yet!)
Yep, Dad had the easy job that day. LOL! In July, sitting in the shade with the kids beat rounding up food in the blazing sun. :-)
That’s the only time they built a nest in that spot and it was a perfect location for observing and getting pix. I was surprised how quickly the young grow from hatching to fledging. They were up and gone in no time.
