The cussing has always been an issue for me even though I have exercised it myself in very serious and passionate situations that truly might warrant it. And sometimes there are indeed issues so grave that it might deserve it. But to use it all the time just lowers intelligence and integrity, one can argue or debate even very seriously without using foul language or derogatory terminology using the mind instead. To use it all the time is the sign of a lower IQ and a limited vocabulary. Intelligent people can cuss each other out without ever actually using any cuss words. :)

But as far as expressing objective and open ideology here on the FR? While it is getting more free in expression from when I first joined 3 years ago unfortunately there is still quite a bit of thought control and group think in the form of peer harassment and attempts to embarrass or intimidate. “You are not supposed to think like that here” is still prevalent here. There are still topics you cannot dare to have self expression about or you will be stoned to death. lol

LOL...I think you noticed my "...But to a large degree, you can express yourself (with some exceptions)..." statement...if I see someone who is openly espousing things that are ANTI-conservative (as opposed to degrees of conservative behavior which I try to be tolerant of) I have no hesitation jumping in a pigpile.

But I don't like some of the pigpile behavior on some things which I see as a genuine difference of opinion on people who are otherwise conservative.

I don't like seeing it get personal, which happens needlessly.

As for profanity, I have been in a lifelong endeavor to reduce it, successfully for the most part. As a young man, I used to cuss indiscriminately. I came to see it as a sign of weakness and have tried to combat it in my own expression.

I don't mind a cussword here and there, especially if it can be sparingly used to make a point. And around here, that is largely the only way I see it used, which I appreciate.
