As soon as I can afford a DeLorean with a flux capacitor I am heading back to the 60’s.
It was our culture. We failed to defend it properly against the radicalism that arose in the mid-to-late Sixties. And then we elected those "former" radicals to office, in large numbers.
America died because Dad Wasn't Cool Enough. The schism between the Sixties kids and the Thirties parents was so great that the Sixties kids tried to erase every single thing the Thirties parents ever built or believed in. The Sixties kids holding political office today are still fighting that battle - and they have largely convinced the Nineties kids to follow their lead.
