As an old, “shut in”, I spend a great deal of time watching old, B&W movies on Youtube. Or, TV series reruns I didn’t have time to watch during my working years.

The last time - the very last time - I was in a movie theater was when “Top Gun”, with Tom Cruise, came out. My son took me there on a weekend because he knew - having been in the Air Force - that I like movies about airplanes, jets, etc.

So, all that to say, the “oscars” is a non-starter for me, and has been for years and years...I rather see old episodes of “The Andy Griffith Show”.

I have noted that there is very scarce coverage of the event in the news today - except, of course, for the “Trump bashing” parts of it. Figures.

I watch a lot of the "MeTV" and "Comet" channel. Mostly 60s and 70s re-runs. "Comet" shows a fair number of Saturday-night drive-in style creature features, which are campy fun. "Creature from the Black Lagoon" was on a couple of weekends ago; WBill Jr thought that it was hilarious.

Don't know if they're available in your area, thought that it would be worth a mention.

With the thousands of pre Hollyweird movies on retro TV stations and YouTube there is no way I’ll subject myself to to the crap being produced today. Its the same with music. 1975 is pretty much the cutoff date for both. Its not that I’m just old, I’m discriminating.
