she has a fixed office budget, so she’s going to have to pay the same to top level staff as relatively unimportant low-level staff. this is going to result in two negative outcomes for AOC:
1. low-level staff won’t be any more productive as a result of being paid more.
2. she’ll have to settle for poor quality high-level staff since she’ll be offering non-competitive wages.
this latter issue is going to hurt her far worse than the first one ...
As a manager, I always liked to short-staff.
It challenges the others, to their benefit.
If I was AOC, I’d cut staff to pay the wages she wants.
