Slavery is not ok, even if pre-slavery life was bad.
Meh...Slavery? That’s a bit dramatic and I know it’s the new cause of the era that every “nymph du prarie” is a slave. But it’s basically indentured servitude to pay off your entry fee. And its a binary choice. Life in China or Jupiter beach Florida.
All you blue hairs and college girls clutching your pearls over “slavery” might want to give it a rest unless you are also willing to take a good hard look at who is working in the kitchen at your fave restaurants, and how long they have been agreed to work in exchange for the 20k it took to get smuggled into America.
As for me, Id take the quiet environment, soft music, air conditioning and and decent pay of a beach town massage parlor over scrubbing pots in the steamy kitchen of a Chinese restaurant kitchen ANY day.
