Lee was under an umbrella which was struck and he was ‘hit’ and it knocked him out.
When asked by a reporter later what he would do differently he replied:
“I would hold up a 1 Iron, even God can’t hit a 1 Iron!”
FWIW I hit a (borrowed) 1 Iron once.

Had a perfect swing and contact, unfortunately the ‘itty-bitty-teeny-weeny’ tree 20’ in front of me was contacted by the (unexpectedly) low trajectory of the golf ball.
The ball bounced backward forcefully into my forehead while I was on my backswing.
Had a GOOD sized lump for a week.
I do not carry a 1 Iron.
I hit an ancient 1 iron off the tee cause I can’t hit a wood! True story.
