Oh, okay, thanks! But I never thought of them as being collectible myself. I only thought of them as being really valuable in a "SHTF" situation. But recently I was disabused of that notion when I read a Selco article about his experience surviving the Bosnia-Herzegovina war.

He pointed out that the last thing you'd want to do was flash around a lot of big beautiful "uncirculated" coins; the robbers would hear about it and come and take them away from you and leave you dead as a doornail.

Keep some silver, yes, by all means. But only a few random small denominations at any one time in your pocket. They should be old, grungy, beat-up coins, not bright, shiny brand new ones. And never more than a few dollars worth at a time. Enough to buy a loaf of bread, a few aspirin, a piece of fruit, or a few bullets - if you could find any of those things.

So it seems these new Walking Liberties are pretty much useless in any real life situation.
