Subject: In Town Pool Report #12- we (sort of) saw the speech
Pool was brought up from the hold room shortly after 8:00 pm.
At around 8:05 we were brought into a lobby where we could see POTUS speaking and gesturing behind the podium. A TV camera got video and some still photographers took shots. Your pooler could not make out anything President Trump was saying. After a minute or two, staff saw us trying to observe the speech and quickly ushered us back to the motorcade.
The pool is now back in the vans waiting outside the venue for the quick trip back to the White House.
White House staff passed along the following information about tonight’s event in response to our request:
“The President is addressing the Republican Governors Association’s Executive Roundtable Quarterly Meeting Dinner.”
Subject: In Town Pool Report #13- Heading Back
The motorcade began heading back to the White House at about 8:35 pm.
Expect to hear from pool again momentarily.
