What's not to like about socialism and the USSR when you live the life of USSR Commissars?
As a college leftist Bernie belonged to CORE and SNCC, participated in college sit-ins and looked to socialist leader Eugene V. Debs for inspiration.
Altough Bernie has lived almost all of his adult life sucking on the public teat, starting out as a mayor in Burlington, he and Jane are multi-millionaires living the good life.
They own a big home in Burlington, a home in Washington DC and a lakefront Dacha in Vermont.
They purchased the 4 bedroom lakefront home in Vermont for about $575,000 after he dropped out of the 2016 presidential race.
Maybe that was his payoff money from Hillary to get out her way to the presidency.
Did she give him a choice to take a payoff or get whacked?
Either way - Bernie and Jane spent that money on themselves rather than share it out to the less fortunate as Bernie lectures us to do.
It occurs to me that what is going on in Venezuela now is not only an excellent lesson in socialism, but a very good display of why the 2nd Amendment is so important.
Why don’t those Venezuelan people get that humanitarian aid through by fighting the people blocking it? Well, because they’re not armed. Why aren’t they armed? Because they aren’t allowed by their government to be armed. Socialist/communist governments do not allow an armed citizenry. Only the totalitarians can be armed.
