I would bet that the target will be John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Irvine, CA. Can’t have a public facility named after a ‘homophobe’, can we. Could rename it the Billie Jean King Airport—she was from Long Beach, but it’s close enough.
Oh yeah you’re right they’ll be agitating to rename it.
In Port Angeles WA they are talking about re-naming the John Wayne Trail, and the John Wayne Marina is up for redevelopment and possible renaming.
