LOL.

I remember hearing someone say, long ago, that Playboy prided itself on intellectual articles, interviews, etc. because that helped them evade the old obscenity laws.

They said that back in those days, magazines and books were judged as a whole, based on redeeming social value. So Playboy could say, that while there is nudity, there is also intellectual, non-pornographic content to balance things out.

It was just a slide on the slippery slope - a way to get porn to men.

It worked at the time.
