Chicago police say the FBI is handling the investigation surrounding the letter, because that’s a federal-level concern.
CPD can easily let their part of the case slide due to political correctness and pressure. The FBI is much less likely to let it go. The Nigerian Brothers better make a deal with the feds quick, because they actually assembled and mailed the letter.
