When my son in law was overseas, he was in a meeting with a bunch of African Ambassadors and their staff. At one point the staffs were in an anteroom that had a TV on CNN. There was a piece about these people saving a squirrel. Everyone was watching it. A couple of African Generals turned to him and asked why these people would go to the trouble (an expense) to save this squirrel?
That is what the US has become to the rest of the world: We spend our time and treasure to save squirrels.
