Three armed suspects were caught on video fleeing after the owner of the home they were targeting opened fire on February 12. The Tribunist reported that the incident occurred in broad daylight in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Surveillance video showed three armed suspects approach the home and try to kick in the front door. A shot was then heard as the homeowner opened fire.
The panicked suspects quickly spun around and fled the scene.
Or gremlins?
Maybe they’ll have a “Come to Jesus” moment. Alternatively, maybe they’ll escalate or be sneakier.
Maybe he has very good hearing in addition to his surveillance system. I used to react to the uninvited before my dogs did.
Perhaps the owner’s a pacifist.
My dogs alert on any unfamiliar vehicles parking nearby. And they go crazy when anyone approaches the house.
Yeah, so do mine. Maybe he/she carries in the house and stays that ready.
Okay, so I went to the original article and it says he saw them standing in his driveway and saw the guns - so he went and got his.
What do you wanna bet the guy in the house was sitting on a drug stash and was expecting the attempt. Opiods.
They didn’t read the sign.
This house protected by high speed non electric device.
Then he’s obviously following the fourth rule of the streets: Never get high on your own supply.
I’m never more than 3 seconds from a loaded gun while I’m home. My Beretta 92F is one foot from my left knee in a safe bolted to the side of my computer desk.
And, I have many little safes in my house with guns in them.
:D
Same here, only the artillery spread throughout the house consists of two Taurus Judges, a M1911, a 38 Spec and Beretta .22 (wifey's gun) and two .380s in the shop behind the garage. Then there's the M1897 Trench shotgun (repro) and a Ruger .22 with a loaded 30-round mag.
Yes, I am in a rural area, and yes, in 13 years we have never been broken into.
:-)
No grass out here in the desert, but during the cooler weather I sit and read on my porch. On the table beside me is a glass of wine - and a nickle-plated 4" barreled Taurus Judge - damn thing looks like a cannon.
Once had some Jehovah's Witnesses show up. The climbed up the porch stairs, took one look, turned around and left. (Why didn't I think of that sooner?) I guess the word spread as we haven't been bothered since.
I bring the Judge out with me as city people come out here and dump off their unwanted pets. I usually doze after the wine, and one time I felt something wet on my leg. Woke with a start. Here's some BIG mixed breed sniffing my knee - gave me a quick look-over and trotted off. Next time it might not be a friendly one.

I wonder if it was the same three teens that were killed in a similar attack in the same town.
Same town, 3 teens killed by homeowner with an AR-15. Wonder if it is the same ones? People were upset that they were killed because the home owner used an AR.
You don’t fight fair; you fight to protect yourself and your family. An armed society is a polite society.
