I loved his show. Didn’t hurt that both he and Patricia Heaton are both registered Republicans....

I think the reason Seinfeld and ELR were such successful, well written shows, and to some extent Tim Allen’s shows even though I really never watch them because I never warmed up to any of them-but they are successful, is because they’re first-off comedians who understand comedy. I thought ELR was one of the best comedy shows, ranking right up there with some of the classics like Lucy, Bob Newhart, some of the 60s shows like Get Smart (Mel Brooks) etc, etc. Then you realize these shows were headed by comedians, too. I’m sure they all had a major hand in the production.
I knew Patricia Heaton was a Republican, didn’t know Ray Romano was, but I can see it.
I never watched the show when it was on but now I love the late night reruns. Glad I didn’t go in for the sitcoms years ago as it gives me something to watch now when TV is so lousy otherwise! Great acting by everyone involved. Same with “King of Queens” - all new to me..
