With nest you can assign a portion of the camera’s view to which you want it to respond or ignore. The notifications tell me if it’s a person. The notification comes with 1 second of the pertinent motion, click through for the feed.

Sounds like you’v got a pretty good system.

I just use...motion activated lights. At all doors...Garage door included.

And two dogs...And of course Mr. pistols....
