Ah...advertising. Through observation, I have come up with my own Madison Avenue advertising hierarchy.

From last place to first, it lists the level at which certain demographics can be safely ridiculed in advertisements. Let's call them the Power Rankings. The lower on the list, the more dangerous it is to ridicule:

• White married males
• White unmarried males
• East Indian married males
• Hispanic married males
• East Indian single females
• East Indian married females
• White single females
• White married females
• Hispanic females (single or married)
• Black married females
• Black single females
• Children of any race under the age of 10

Ain’t that the truth. According to the ads, most Caucasian grandparents all of a sudden have at least one token minority grandchild. Reality is slipping from our grasp.

I agree with what you say about advertising making men look stupid, but what's wrong with showing interracial couples.

And before anyone asks, yes, I've seen advertisements with interracial couples where the man was white and was not an idiot.
