At first it seemed like a dream marriage except to say that he was a bit of a work-a-holic to support his family and at one point near the end of the marriage of 19 yrs, the wife suddenly decided to NOT WORK and leave all the responsibilities to him for the last 5 years of the marriage.
I would often pop in and chat with them you could see the quiet pains in his eyes he endured as she totally devolved into the proverbial Peggy Bundy (from Married With Children sitcom comedy), as she would be goofing off and spending the entire day on Youtube, claiming to be doing "spiritual research". They were both strong mature Christians but she got screwed up big-time in her head.
In the end, he confided to me that he didnt trust her cooking and he was chronically ill from various stuff that left the doctors confounded!
Now that she divorced him, he is a much happier person that he's ever been and even the pastor at church today publicly remarked that he is looking very well and happier than ever!
He once told me that he is very glad that there were no children produced in this marriage as we all feared that she would have used this as a weapon against him.

I knew a Nigerian guy who made the mistake of marrying an American (black) women. Nightmare, every time I saw him. Then I didn’t see him for 15 years...and then I run into him recently and ask him if he’s still married. He said he dumped her, went back to the old country to get a real wife, and is happy as anyone could ever wish for now!
