The Million Next Door and The Millionaire Mind, the follow up book to the former, are great reads. I highly recommend both.

“Everyday Millionaires” by Chris Hogan is supposed to be an update on that original study.
Some of the data was interesting. In twenty years, the everyday millionaire is now someone who saved 15-20% in 401ks over the years every year, not a blue collar business owner who made it big.
The percentage of self-made millionaires versus inherited is stable - less than 10% inherit much of anything.
