Well said.
I work as academic coach w/ high school and college students, and I have several kids “transitioning” — I don’t judge, and I only deal w/ academics. I do observe a couple things:
- outside interest groups promote these “transitions” aggressively
- the public schools accept and even promote those groups and the students involved
- these events totally dominate the kid’s life, at the expense of family and academics
Very sad.
And I just want them to do their homework...
I feel bad for adults who are encouraged to “be themselves” and go down this path (because I do feel these people need help, not encouragement) but my heart breaks for kids...it makes me angry.
They are being sentenced to a life of misery, high suicide rates, drug abuse and a host of other issues, and they may not even be ten years old yet.
