Are there any countries in sub Saharan Africa, which are not basket cases? Serious question. Maybe South Africa since it hasn’t totally fallen apart yet? Any others?

Well, I have personally been to Niger, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Angola.
Namibia and Botswana are actually not too bad, though they are poor, but between the Namib Desert and the Kalahari those countries are very sparsely populated. South Africa is deteriorating quickly.
