Did you have to run through the gauntlet of medics with shot “guns” not needles. We got cut a few times by the “guns” some troops fainted and we're carted off. We were sick and sore the next day but no one cared.

We did. Usually, we would get two to four shots at a time.

On one run through the “gauntlet”, one of the shots was very painful. I was looking at it and trying to massage it, then noticed blood dripping off the OTHER arm, from the shot that did not hurt one bit.

I was tested for immunity to German measles while in boot camp, too. As one of about three in my company of 80 who did not have immunity, I had to make a special visit to the clinic to get that shot. It was delivered through a needle, and it was painful and swelled up for the next few days. Maybe 5 or 6 years ago, I was tested again and I am immune to German measles. So that one shot almost 40 years ago did the trick.
